What is POLLUTION?
Pollution is the introduction of harmful materials into the environment. These harmful materials are called pollutants. Pollutants can be natural, such as volcanic ash. They can also be created by human activity, such as trash or runoff produced by factories. Pollutants damage the quality of air, water, and land.

EFFECTS
Pollution occurs in different forms; air, water, soil, radioactive, noise, heat/ thermal, and light.
The effects of pollution include environment degradation, diseases, global warming, infertile land, damaging of wildlife resources, ozone layer depletion, and more. Pollution disturbs our ecosystem and the balance in the environment.

Ways to CEASE Environmental Pollution
As STEM students, the power to decrease and cease environmental pollution is in our hands. We can apply our own learnings from our strand to help even in the simplest ways. Here are some methods that the CTEP campaign promotes that you can also do in order to cease environmental pollution:

1. Practice the 3 R's.
2. Turn off electrical appliances when not in use.
3. No to plastic bags.
4. Implement afforestation.
5. Avoid using products with chemicals.
6. Spread awareness.

The CHANGE starts within YOU.
